ShakeiT Boba

In 2019, my wife and I made a big decision to start ShakeiT Boba in Huntsville, Alabama. Back then, there wasn’t a single boba tea shop around, and we felt a strong urge to share something we loved with our community. We were passionate about boba, but honestly, we didn’t know the first thing about making it ourselves. So, we rolled up our sleeves and began experimenting with different teas and boba types in our kitchen, trying to figure out what flavors would resonate with people.

At the same time, we were navigating the joys and challenges of being new parents. Our first child was already here, and with a second on the way, money was tight. When the pandemic hit in 2020, it felt like the world was turned upside down, but we saw an opportunity to bring a little joy to our community during such a tough time. We decided to start with a food trailer, which was both exciting and nerve-wracking. Many people thought we were just another taco truck at first, which made us laugh! 

We spent our early days parked at shell gas station giving out samples and chatting with everyone about what boba tea really is. Watching people’s faces light up when they tried our drinks for the first time was one of the most rewarding experiences. The community really embraced us, and our little yellow trailer became a beacon of happiness, helping people escape the stress of the pandemic, even if just for a moment.

Thanks to all the support we received, we were able to open our first boba shop in Madison. It was an incredible milestone, but it also came with its own set of challenges—long hours, a steep learning curve, and the constant hustle to keep everything running. Still, we were determined to keep our mission alive: to bring joy to our community through delicious boba. 

Looking back, this journey has been an adventure filled with ups and downs. We’re so grateful for everyone who has been part of our story, and we’re committed to making our boba with love, ensuring that every cup brings a smile. For us, this isn’t just about serving drinks; it’s about creating a welcoming space where people can connect and enjoy something special together.
