About the Director

Quan Serita, affectionately known as Miss Q, is the passionate founder and visionary director of Symphony Q Academy of Dance (SQAD). A native of Opelika, Alabama, Miss Q’s journey in dance began at an early age and has blossomed into a lifelong mission to uplift and empower others through the arts. She earned her BFA in Dance from Alabama State University and is currently pursuing her MFA in Dance at Hollins University, continuing to deepen her artistry and leadership in the field. With years of experience as an educator, choreographer, and performer, Miss Q is committed to creating a space where students of all ages and backgrounds feel seen, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. Her teaching philosophy blends technical excellence with personal growth, and her dedication to mentorship has made her a beloved figure in both the local dance community and beyond.

Founded in 2020 and proudly minority- and woman-owned, Symphony Q Academy of Dance is more than just a dance studio — it’s a movement. Located in Montgomery, Alabama, SQAD was built on the belief that dance can transform lives and communities. The Academy offers high-quality training in a variety of styles, including ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, and more, all while cultivating confidence, discipline, and artistry in every dancer. At SQAD, we don’t just teach dance — we nurture dreams. Our mission is to inspire youth and adults, provide exposure to the performing arts, and make dance education accessible to all. Through performances, community events, and scholarship opportunities, we aim to make a lasting impact both on and off the stage
