Hey, Good Lookin'...Hank Fest Is Here!

Country music sounds a little different when you’re hearing it in the hometown of Hank Williams.

Maybe it’s the crowd singing louder than the speakers during “Your Cheatin’ Heart.” Maybe it’s the steel guitar floating across Hank Williams Park while lawn chairs keep multiplying by the hour. Either way, the Hank Williams Festival turns Georgiana into one of Alabama’s biggest country music gatherings on June 5-6, bringing together live performances, local vendors, festival food, and fans who treat the weekend like a yearly reunion.

Set beside the Hank Williams, Sr. Boyhood Home and Museum, the festival blends hometown pride with a full weekend of music that keeps the park buzzing well after dark.

The festival has become one of those Alabama summer traditions where the setup stays pleasantly simple. Nationally recognized country performers share the lineup with regional and local artists, creating a weekend that feels rooted in both classic country influence and the newer generation carrying the sound forward.

By early evening, the park settles into its rhythm. Food vendors stay busy. Families drift between craft booths. Groups camp out near the stage preparing for a full night of music. Somebody’s singing along three lyrics ahead of the band.

It feels familiar in the best possible way.

A Weekend Built Around Music And Community

What separates the Hank Williams Festival from bigger concert weekends is the atmosphere surrounding it. The event doesn’t feel disconnected from the town around it. Georgiana and Hank Williams’ story are tied together so closely that the setting naturally becomes part of the experience.

Fans spend the day listening to music steps away from the homeplace connected to one of country music’s most influential songwriters. That history gives the weekend an added layer without making it feel overly formal or museum-like.

The festival keeps the focus where people want it:

  • Live country music throughout the weekend
  • Arts and crafts vendors across the grounds
  • Local food and festival staples
  • Relaxed bring-your-own-chair seating

There’s also something refreshing about an event where people aren’t constantly checking schedules or sprinting between activities. Most attendees simply settle in and let the weekend unfold naturally.

The warm June air, the sound of steel guitar drifting across the park, and a crowd that knows every word to “Your Cheatin’ Heart” tend to do the heavy lifting from there. You can get your tickets for the festival here.
