Set the Table, Statewide!

Set the Table, Statewide!

There's probably a restaurant you've driven past a hundred times without ever pulling into the parking lot. Alabama Restaurant Week, happening August 15-16, is a pretty good excuse to change that.

Coordinated by the Alabama Tourism Department, this annual statewide event features participating restaurants offering prix-fixe menus, making it easier to sample somewhere new at a set price. The official list of participating restaurants and menus will be posted on the Alabama Tourism Department's Restaurant Week page before the event.

A Little Less Guesswork

Trying a new restaurant isn't usually about a lack of options. It's about uncertainty. Is the menu overwhelming? What's the house specialty? Will everyone at the table find something they like? A fixed-price menu takes much of that guesswork off the table.

Instead of building a meal course by course and watching the bill grow with every decision, diners can enjoy a menu the restaurant has put together to showcase what it does best. That makes Restaurant Week feel less like a gamble and more like an introduction.

It's also a reminder that memorable meals aren't always found at the places you already know. Sometimes they're waiting behind the front door you've passed dozens of times on the way somewhere else.

Make One Different Reservation

When the participating restaurants are announced, resist the urge to look for your regular Friday night spot. Scroll a little farther. Pick the restaurant that's been sitting on your mental list for months. Invite friends, make the reservation, and let someone else's signature dishes surprise you for a change.

Whether it's a date night, dinner with family, or an excuse to catch up with friends, Alabama Restaurant Week offers an easy reminder that your next favorite meal may be at the place you've been meaning to try all along.

Visit the official Alabama Restaurant Week page to browse participating restaurants, explore the prix-fixe menus, and plan your reservation for August 15-16.
