Sun Auto Hits the Gas!

Sun Auto Tire & Service is hitting Alabama’s roads a little harder this year! The Mesa-based company just scooped up four more tire and service shops as part of their Alabama footprint, marking another chapter in its steady Southeast expansion. On the Gulf Coast, Bay City Tire & Wheel in Mobile has joined the Sun Auto family, complementing existing locations and reinforcing service options for local drivers. Up in northeast and central Alabama, three Black’s Tires & Auto Save shops have come aboard, offering more coverage without uprooting the community feel each store has cultivated.

Bigger Network, Same Local Touch

What makes this move land well locally is the approach. These aren’t conversions into big-box service centers with a corporate feel. The shops stay rooted where they are, run by teams who already know their customers by name and probably remember their last oil change too. The difference shows up behind the scenes, where added support starts to make everyday service a little smoother.

Here’s where drivers will start to notice the shift:

  • Expanded coverage means fewer long drives for routine service
  • Access to broader tire inventory and service options
  • Additional training and support for technicians on the ground

That balance between local familiarity and scaled resources is where Sun Auto has been placing its bets. With more than 550 locations nationwide, the company has been building its Southeast presence piece by piece, and Alabama is clearly a priority.

For drivers, the change may feel subtle at first. You’ll see the same storefronts, work with the same people, and have the same quick conversations at the counter. But over time, the benefits stack up. Appointments get easier to book, parts are easier to source, and service tends to run a little more efficiently.

Across places like Montgomery and beyond, this kind of expansion is less about flashy openings and more about steady coverage. It fills in the gaps between cities and small towns, creating a network that actually matches how people move around the state.

In a place where a reliable car isn’t optional, having more well-supported service options close to home is a win you feel long before anything breaks down.
